Strongboxes and Bad MenFort Laramie's
Lost Payroll Cache Meanwhile, back at Ft. Collins, Col. Critchell was worried about the transport and decided to send a few men out to provide it with an escort the rest of the way to Ft. Laramie. If anything happened to the Ft. Laramie payroll, he would have some heavy explaining to do, so he assigned eight men from Company C to the task. When the soldiers arrived at the scene of the crime, they were shocked to find the bodies of the two dead men, Pritchett and LeBlanc, lying along the side of the road.
