A Little Help From Our Friends

I have a bell that I found, which is about five inches tall and says Chiantel Fondeur...1878 Saichelecier...Can you tell me something about it? Does it have any value?

Texas State Parks regulations currently prohibit recreational metal detecting in any of the state parks. Members of the Texas Council of Treasure Clubs have requested that the Parks Department change the regulation but they claim that Sections 191.0525 and 191.092 of the Texas Antiquities Code preclude recreational metal detecting in state parks. The Texas Council does not agree with that interpretation and are asking you sign a petition at the following website:

Good morning, Guys......If you have a moment; just wanted to know if you have heard of anyone looking into treasure sites in the San Blas Islands of Panama?
Thanks for your time, Jim Peterson, Gardnerville Nevada

Dug up an old iron hand welded artifact from a South Hampton, Long Island NY farmfield. I was hoping you might be able to give me some insight on it? It's a round disc about 6" in circumfrence. It has a five pointed star with a large square headed box nail-like spike or rivet through it's core.
The star could go back to colonial times I guess. It's pretty well rusted through and has become one seven pound chunk of iron. The whole piece appears to have been welded buy a blacksmith artisian. Remnants of horse shoes may have been found nearby but were too deteriorated to age.  I'm curious if there was any Calvary on Long Island?
Thanks, Brian

Hi: Can you give me information on an area called "Coin Beach" south of
Rehoboth Beach  Delaware? Would appreciate any direction you can give me.
Thanks, Carroll J. Giuliani cgiulian@accmail.umd.edu

 Show Off  Your Treasure Finds

1803 Louisiana Purchase...This was found between the RR tracks and the Des Moines River on May 10th 1999. I found it with my GTA 350. It was down about 38". At first, I thought that it was a badge. I soaked it in catsup for an hour and    that helped clean it up a little. I got on the Internet and found out what it was. I have a standing offer of $15,000 cash from a car dealer. It's not for sale.

Tomorrow's parking lot...I live in Killeen, Texas. We do not have a lot of historical artifacts in existance. Other than a few old structures from the early 1900's on a whole, we do not have many tangible reminders of our past. Recently I received permission to use my metal detector on an area where several homes once stood. Soon a parking lot will exist.
Today I found an Indian Head penny 1907, a 1920 D wheat penny, a 1956 wheat, and a 1937 D buffalo nickel with my 1236x2 Fisher metal detector. These were the oldest finds, since I recovered a Good Luck token with no date a year ago, compliments The First National Bank Killeen, Tx.
Where I found the old coins, a bull dozer had cut out 7 to 8 inches of top soil.
Fun in sharing my finds. Jed Schappell, MSJSER@aol.com
The Minnesota beaches...have given up their TREASURES AGAIN this year! My best year yet,
149 rings, 34 of which were GOLD. Here is a picture of some of them...

Park Treasures...I found this is Raymond NH in a park that is very small and well used. I saw a picture at the Town Hall that showed this park being used as a carnival area many years ago. Most of the park is made into roadway and sidewalks now, but I did manage to find several really nice coins there that are proceless to me. Thank you for many years of enjoyment and guidance in your magazine. Click here to see a photo...

Church Relics...My local news station affiliate WKMG news in Orlando, Florida, just aired a story of monumental historical & possibly biblical proportions. According to the news article, a church in Chicago, Illinois announced they had opened a wall safe, and in it were loads of solid gold religious and historic artifacts, that could solve the mysteries of the holy grail, the Russian crown jewels, and the lost cities of Atlantis and El Dorado, and may also solve the mysteries of the lost necklace of Marie Antoinette and the lost gold of Alexandria. After viewing the video, and seeing jewel encrusted crowns, & scepters, I emailed representatives of the US Government, the state of Illinois, the Vatican, & the United Nations, to make sure those governments, who may be able to establish legal claims to their treasures, were given the opportunity to travel to Illinois, to examine the treasures, to determine ownership of the artifacts. I hope your readers understand, these objects have internationally historic & religious archival implications, & may help solve mysteries that were unsolved for many decades. I hope you decide to publish this article, for your reader's enjoyment. Thank you.
