One of our writers in Florida is working on a story about finding rare Spanish gold coins on the beaches near Sebastian, while visiting there during the holidays. It appears that even though the hurricane work is in the clean-up phases, treasure hunters are still having extraordinary finds in the region. Maybe it’s a good time to take a trip to Florida?
In this newsletter, under the Treasure News section, you will find the latest story on the progress, or lack of it, in the ongoing saga about the broken artifacts still lying on the beaches in Lewes, Delaware.
If you find something good let us know. We’re always interested in good stories. And if you’re in the mood for some new treasure hunting equipment be sure and visit our Outlet Mall Stores. Happy New Year!
Editor’s Note:
It appears that the Lewes ‘city fathers’ are more concerned about who is going to clean up the broken glass and pottery shards from the beaches before tourist season hits than they are about the archeological find just under the surface off the coast. Below is a recent email from Lewes police office Mike Bullard to our writer Anthony M. Belli. Bullard, who also is an experience scuba diver, has been keeping a close eye on the developing situation. Bullard is one of many Lewes residents who are concerned about the archeological disaster.
Bullard to Belli:
Is your Lewes story on the net ??? The reason I ask is that the Lewes beach was packed today. Parking for me was even a bitch. Everybody who heard about the finds in Lewes said that they read it in Lost Treasure. Must be a big magazine in Pa. A lot of people were from Pa. Some people were even asking if I was Mike. LOL !!! A lot of stuff was found today. The first full spike was recovered. So it must be a shipwreck. Two more toy soldiers. A toy kids ship that the toy soldiers fit into. Sun Dials, Inkwells, a Naval button, two more rings and children’s pewter teacups.
