Shipping methods
Dan1, I understand your disappointment with the shipping "container" that the Minelab repair facility used to ship your detector back to you. When I sent my Fisher Gold Bug II control head and two coils back to 1st Texas, it came back in an extremely well-packed cardboard box with proper padding. That box, and its contents could have fallen off the back of the truck and survived intact. And the unit was fixed correctly and in factory spec when I got it back.Needless to say but I was 100% happy with Fisher's repair and shipping. So, proper shipping can be done if the company will just apply professional standards to its business.~ Max
Minelab Xterra 705
I just sent my Xterra 705 in to the shop for the forth time, they didn't even try to fix it on the third try . It's a good machine when it works but for the money you spend on a minelab they should have better CS and they should not use padded envelopes to return your machine when it's over 2000 miles .Keep in mind from the time it leaves my hands it's 30 days or more before I see it again so out of the year that I have owned the machine I will have had it in my possession for 8 months . I did enter this contest while they had the machine for the third time but now I can honestly say you couldn't give me a minelab unless it was to take it to the range to use as a target. I attached a still from the first time they returned the machine , that's the inside of the envelope , can you see the holes ?
Spam filter?
This web site needs to add a validation code that is manually entered by the person entering comments or entering the contest. This would pretty much eliminate the spam bots. Case in point: The entry below about wigs. It's annoying

Good Backup Nugget Detector
This machine looks like it would be a great backup gold nugget hunting machine for the desert, the 5"X10" dd coil looks like the ticket for that.
Nice machine, would be great for Geo Detecting Treasure Glub!
I'm also looking for more machines to test for my club, this will come in handy.ThanksBill
